Opinion article relating to war in Israel

The war currently unfolding in Israel is a heartbreaking tragedy in every regard. Opinion journalismn is an important vehicle for understanding various perspectives, especially on topics as contorversial and terrible as war. I found this piece by Abdallah Fayyad to be very insightful and acknoledged both the brutal atrocies committed by Hamas and his own personal history and experience in Gaza. Civilians on both sides are the real victims in the war and Fayyad’s column is a nuanced refection of his own experience and how it relates to Palestinians now and in the future.
